ASSOCIATION OF PSYCHIATRISTS IN NIGERIA: 48TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
he Association of Psychiatrists in Nigeria (APN) was established in 1970 by the erudite scholars of psychiatry in Nigeria after mooting the idea for one year. The members of the association consist of psychiatrists and registered affiliates from all over the country and they are domiciled within federal and state government as well as private hospitals.
The Association will hold her Annual General Meeting and Scientific Meeting between the 20th – 24th of November, 2017, tagged “Jos 2017”.
The Theme of the conference “Mental Health in Social and Economic Crises: Impact on well-being and Psychiatry Care”, is apt and contextual. With the Economic recession in the Country, the Boko Haram insurgence in the North-east, cases of kidnapping all over the Country etc., the mental health implications need to be x-rayed and solutions proffered. The sub-themes are also relevant particularly the issue of substance use in females: a growing epidemic!
